One American success story of deregulation has been in airline travel, where we did 'deregulate' the industry... at least in relative terms. (relative to where regulation had been before 'deregulation' was attempted)

One problem... we didn't actually deregulate that much in absolute terms! How do we know this? Well, we can compare ourselves [ahem] relative to our socialist European friends and allies.
